Haloween in the OC

It was the first halloween adventure for the kids and they do it in style here. Any chance for a festival or celebration and the decorrations come out. First there is the harvest and a trip to the Pumkin Patch to pick out your pumpkins.

Then Clemency did a drawing of what we wanted for our pumpkin design – dad did the carving and we ended up with a NZ theme of a Kiwi and the Southern Cross. We entered this in the local community competition and won first prize, a $50USD voucher!

Clemency and Hadley picked out their costumes from the huge selection, Clemency as Super Girl and Hadley as a cudley dog. Clemency had to wear her costume to school today as the school had a parade around the grounds in their costumes. Even the teachers got dressed up, Clemency’s teacher was dressed up as a bumble bee (Sorry no photos of that).

In the evening we all went around to Waverly’s house (a friend we have met through the relocation company) for Pizza dinner. They live near by New Port at Corona Del Mar which is a nice area for trick or treating after dinner.

The mums took the kids around the houses to collect booty and the normally reserved Clemency had no problems running up to the doors and asking for Candy.

The kids got such big hauls of candy that Hadley couldn’t carry all of his. This will keep them going for some time, anyone want any chocolate.
